Oh there was definitely wounds. He always referred to my grandfather as his biggest bully. My uncle confirmed that their childhood was rough, but also my dad intentionally chose to rebel. There was blame on both sides which I stayed away from until my dad attacked my memories of my grandfather, at that point it was too much.
