Prompt: Write about fear.
One of the fears I am so proud of overcoming is when I started taking swim lessons about three months ago, and I put my face fully in the water and lifted my feet off the ground. I’ve attempted swim lessons twice in life, both times about 10 years ago, and both times I quit the lessons after the first class.
This time, I made it through three months (I paused when the weather became so cold!), and I learned to trust my body and the trainers/lifeguards.
And I think that’s what it comes down to is trust. Trusting myself that I know what I’m doing. And trusting others that they know what THEY’RE doing.
And I think sometimes that’s what some of the other things I fear—which may be what fear is: on the borderline of faith.
