The Lighting of the Candles for Lena Adams and Velva Lewis
As I trace the memories of two most loved ones, I found myself thinking and juxtaposing the elements of before and ones here now in front of us. From this juxtaposition I have found that key element has branded us through it all. As I also look back to what this family has been through, I have realized that love still exists and is still alive.
Love, the first and foremost of all, what all the laws are built upon what creation itself holds it very fiber, cannot be reduced, abstained, denied, or vanquished. For these two souls have decided to dedicate their lives to a life of work, care, and yes indeed love.
As I light these candles in memory of two precious souls that once loved upon this earth, I feel the need to address the beauty that has been given over time, and what is being displayed today.
Velva Lewis: My adorable sister, friend, and treasure given from our mother, indeed we miss you, and the doors of our homes and hearts are open and will be ever welcoming when you return to us transformed, renewed, and filled with God’s Holy Spirit. I light this candle not in memory but in faith.
Now mama (Lena Adams) I light this candle in memory of you. What you have given us, what you have taught us, what you fought for, and what you defended. You touched so many hearts and minds upon this earth during your short stay; what you did here we can only imagine what you are doing in Heaven, inspiring, loving, resting, and enjoying the beauty of peace.
And now to this union; you have the blessing from me as your Uncle live life to the fullest, work hard, play hard, enjoy your time together. Cherish every moment that you have together. I indeed love you, and together keep love alive once again.
